4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Buckland Park

When I was growing up, the name Buckland to me was the old residence over the back fence that has now become a part of the Southern Cross Nursing Homes in North Plympton.

Today I associate the name with the new Bureau of Meteorology weather radar, often looking at the loop checking on the rain clouds rolling in. More information on the radar is readily assessable from the Bureau of Meteorology website.

Also nearby is the University of Adelaide Buckland Park field site, home to few types of radar.

In the past royalty has graced the area, coming for a spot of shooting. (Reference from South Australian Library.)

Looking to the future, in December a new land division to support 15000 residents was announced. Perhaps now may be an ideal time to make a land grab, while it is still cheap.

The cache is a 1 litre, plastic container painted black, easily accessible by the side of the road (no need to climb fences). I had hoped to place it closer to the weather radar, but when confronted by a large locked gate, that has been smashed down, I was hesitant in placing it any closer, in case the gate is repaired and the road in becomes inaccessible.

Cheers from

The old one of Calumphing_Four
