Geocache Description:

A micro cache hidden near a popular hiking trail along the west shore of Priest Lake between the Priest Lake Marina and Hill's Resort.

The Four Island View cache is located on the west side of Priest Lake, just south of the Kalispell Bay boat launch, next to Beach Trail #48. The trailhead is located at the southern edge of the boat launch parking area. Trail #48 and the cache site offer wonderful views of the lake, islands and Selkirk Mountains. We walk this trail often and usually stop and sit on a log near the cache to enjoy the views. From the cache one can see Kalispell, Papoose, Bartoo and Fourmile Islands. Our family used to have a cabin (now the Host Cabin) on Kalispell Island, which can also be seen from the cache.

Trail #48 is an easy hike which follows along the lakeshore and passes in front of several summer homes. The trail passes by Luby Bay Campground and goes to Hill’s Resort. From Hill’s the trail continues south to the Outlet Bay Campground. There are two short sections where the trail leads out to the Lakeshore Road then takes off into the woods again.

The cache is a micro container hidden in nature. It is not necessary to dig anything up to locate this cache. There is only room in the cache for a log, so bring along a writing utensil. Enjoy your hunt and the views of the lake. This can be a fairly busy area at times during the summer, so watch out for muggles.
