Takes the White's Mill Road for 4.2 miles North of Abingdon,
Virginia. Free parking is located in front of the Old White's Mill
and the cache is just a short walk on the grassy trail from the
first cache.
White's Mill
This cache was placed by permission of the White's Mill
Foundation. The Foundation is engaged in an extensive restoration
of the old Mill. The Mill and Mercantile is currently operated by
the non-profit Foundation and is open to the public.
The original mill was constructed sometime in the early
1790's. It is speculated that the current Mill was built late in
the 1820's. Please refer to the White's Mill web site for a more

We have also presented a brief history from the web site on our
"Down By The Old Mill" (GC12MGQ) cache page. The Mill was placed on
the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It is also on the
Virginia Register of Historic Places.
The Mill is a wonderful and photogenic place to visit.
There are two caches here and another to be found just a short
drive down Toole's Creek Road. This cache is a camo-taped, 5 X 3 X
2 Lock-n-Lock with room for small tradeables. The cache is a short
.16 mile from the Down By The Old Mill cache. Please place the
cache back exactly where and how you found it. Thanks and be sure
