Geocache Description:

This multi will require a boat or some swimming to complete during the summer. It is not recommended to attempt this cache when the ice is thin in spring and fall. It will be much easier to find the final cache during the winter but the first 2 stages during the summer.

Over 20 species of waterfowl call this place home. Among them are several species of ducks (of which the mallard is the most common) and many species of geese (mostly Canada geese). During the fall migration, this place will act as staging area for migration waterfowl and it is not uncommon to see well over 300,000 ducks and geese splashing and feeding in and around the marsh.

During the nesting season however, those birds are a bit more discreet, as they are looking for secluded areas to build their nest away from predators' view.

You'll notice several structures in the marsh that offer such protection to waterfowl such as "duck tunnels" and "nesting islands". These structures will help increase the success rate from 5-20% to 80-90%!

	This cache was created to add to the number of QUALITY caches hidden in Manitoba. It is an official cache in the MBGA Cache Splash event.
