A micro at the top of the Bunsal Cob incline
This incline was part of the Cromford and High Peak railway. It was built in 1831 to transport goods, mainly limestone between the Peak Forest Canal and the Cromford Canal. It has a gradient of 1 in 7 & the small reservoir at the top provided water for the steam engine. About 12 years ago I skied down here & reckoned I exceeded 80mph. I must`ve been mad.
The nearby car park has a bad reputation, however - use common sense & don`t leave valuables on show, you should be able to bag the cache, take in the views & back to the car in 5 or 10 mins.
