Goose Island Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

DISK: After 8½ years, we think it's time for this one to go and open up the option for someone else to use the area [8D].
Since there's no island, now there's no cache [:I].
Thanks to everyone who looked and/or found our cache - hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed reading your logs [^].

Geocache Description:

Who would have thought that this town has its own island? Little is known about how this area of land got it’s name, but it has been called this since at least the early 1900’s (If anyone has more info, please email me).

A low lying area of land bordered mainly by the meandering South Para River and houses along is southern border, the island is most commonly used as a pedestrian thoroughfare from Eighth Street, across the walking bridge to Whitelaw Terrace and the main business area. It is also one of the first areas in the town to flood when the river rises.

More recently, it had been cleaned up and used as a festival site.

Using great stealth, it would be best if this cache is retrieved by an adult, because one slip and it’s all gone…
