Geocache Description:

Welcome to the L.A.T.C.H. 101 series of caches. L.iving A.dventure T.hrough C.ache H.opping. This will be an ongoing series of 101 caches. These hides will be spread around to various locations. Caches will cover different categories, sizes, types, overall difficulty (both terrain and location difficulty), the series will also contain traditional, puzzle and multi caches. This series gives me a chance to get my “hide fix”. It also gives you a chance to get your “find fix”. I love where I live and all of the surrounding areas. With this series I can explore more of my domain and at the same time give you the chance to explore areas that we might otherwise pass by. I am happy when a cache does something as simple as make me drive down a side street that I (while living in the Tri-Cities for 31 years) have never taken. You might say that I enjoy taking the road “less traveled”. I hope you enjoy these caches as much as I have hiding them. Please use stealth when hunting, rehide cache better than you found it, CITO, trade even, take responsibility for your own safety when caching, be aware of poisonous plants/ snakes/ wildlife/ thorns, have fun and happy caching.

Things you should expect on this hunt.
1. A creek crossing...I crossed and my feet never got wet however this may not be the case when you go due to water levels.
2. You will lose GPSr signal a few times before you reach the cache hide location.
3. A beautiful hike along a well defined trail...the hike is a short one and time will vary depending on the individual. It will take most people about 45 minutes round trip.
4. Frustration with your GPSr...(and maybe with the cache hider)

The difficulty on this hide is due to the fact that massive tree cover will block reception in many places. I do not want to make this a difficult hide. I want it to be an enjoyable walk for you in the beautiful outdoors. In order to make up for the lack of good signal in many areas, I am going to provide you with some details of just what you are looking for. Coords were taken from a 1000 average. I did 1000 averages three times to get these coords. At nearest parking area there begins a trail into the woods. Park your car and begin walking the trail towards your waypoint. You will not need to cross the bridge on the left (stay on the right trail). Soon you will be at the creek....Cross it where you can. After the creek crossing you will come upon an area to the right of the trail and along the creek where there are many boulders and uprooted dead trees laying on the ground. It is a stretch of bank that is oddly clear. This area is where your coords are taking you. If you stop a few minutes and let GPSr settle down here you will have a good fix. The cache is a short plastic jug camo painted. It has small tradeables and logbook. Remember your own pen. Cache is hid under the last large boulder at the far end of the cleared area. Boulder is just past root ball of fallen tree. This area is accessible only from 7:00am until 10:00pm so plan accordingly.
