Geocache Description:

A fairly demanding walk up the Eastern slopes of Table Mountain in the Cecilia Forest area. Your reward: Beautiful views as far as the eye can see - Maclears beacon and Devilspeak towards the north, Constantiaberg towards the south and the southern suburbs as far as the eye can see.

Depending on your fitness and knowledge of paths in the area, find your way up to the cache or follow the suggested route:
1) Park at S33 59.914 E18 25.586
2) Make your way to S33 59.821 E18 25.292. Take the path up.
3) Continue going up at S33 59.818 E18 25.178.
4) At S33 59.811 E18 24.918 keep going on the contour path (If you go up you’ll find yourself on the concrete jeep track eventually). Continue to Cecilia waterfall. Enjoy the view here and make your way to the next waypoint.
5) Find the path going up Cecilia Ridge at S33 59.679 E18 25.165. From here be VERY CAREFUL as it’s pretty steep up all the way to the top!
At the cache location you can enjoy a well deserved break and the stunning views.

Return to where you parked following the same route down.

Our favourite time of the year to walk in this area is winter. There’s always so much to see and there’s usually drinking water in the many streams.

We have a .gpx track of the route to the cache that we can e-mail to you on request.
