Oak Grove Plantation, consists of two very large houses, slave quaters, an old school house, cemetery, etc. They are both occupied today and the present owner of the cache location has given permision for the cache. both homes are on the National Historic Register. You will not need to go inside of fenced yard nor will you need to trespass to find cache. It is a camoflaged ammo can.
Local lore has it that during the days of slavery, the Master of the old Oak Grove Plantation had suspected his wife of being unfaithful. Late one dark cold night the wife slipped out of the house, thinking that her husband was sound asleep. He was not. He followed her, out the bedroom, down the hall, down the stairs staying in the shadows so as not to be seen, and watched as she entered one of the slave houses.
He eased up to the window and looking in discovered his wife in a compromising position with the biggest slave (almost seven feet tall) on the plantation. Furious, he busted through the door and grabbed her slinging her to the floor. Then taking the slave, at gunpoint, out to the front of the Plantation house tieing him to the huge tree out front cutting off both of his hands, leaving him there to bleed to death.
As it turned out the wife had gotten pregnant during her encounters with the slave and when the baby was born, the Master of the Plantation banished her and the baby to never come back.
The Haunting of the Slave:
Yes, you can see the slave, in front of the Plantation house or walking along the dirt road near the Plantation looking for his baby. It drives him insane. Some report that after being in the area they find scratches on on their car, or after stopping it won't start Some folks say he is tall, as much as 8 feet but we all know that he is only 7 foot tall........Gulp!!!!! Remember this is only local lore, probably not an ounce of truth to it, RIGHT???????????
