Stonehedge - Pagan Cache Series Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

rich1ell: Doing some maintenance visits today with the laird.
We spent over an hour looking for the container (and we know what we are looking for) to no avail. Low visitor numbers and lack of a replacement mean this ones being archived.
Thanks to all who visited this cache.

Geocache Description:

This is one of a set of caches devised and hidden to complement the
“Celebrate the Summer Solstice with the Laird” event.
They all have themes associated with various pagan rituals and beliefs that we have researched.
We are not pagans so reality and fiction may have become blended and all themes & their complementary locations are subject to “cachers licence”

Places were the dead meet the living,,
Druid priest practice rituals of the deceased
when their own meet the end,
shadows of the living dance
upon the wall with the ghosts
within the place of a stone circle
and the dead bury thier own
burning the bodies,,
a spirit sent to the heavens
asking for deliverance,,
a deliverance that was never given or done,
in the circle of stones.

Stonehenge is a Neolithic and Bronze age monument near Amesbury in Wiltshire. Comprising of large standing stones surrounded by earthworks, it is one of the most famous and imposing prehistoric sites in the world.

In addition to it being a vistior attraction Stonehenge is now a place of pilgrimage for neo-druids, pagan and neo-pagan followers where controlled annual solstice rituals take place.
This is our tribute to the historic site

The cache is a well concealed borderline micro/nano cache containing only a logbook where GPS reception may be an issue in the summer - bring your own pen to sign the log.
Please take care when opening the small container as the lid can easily be detached from the tube, as the lid is small & tight it may get lost easily. let me know of any problems, thanks

There is ample off road parking at Fillongley Cemertery(see waypoint). You will need to get out of the car and open the gate drive through then close it behind you. The footpath stars at the bottom of the 'Berryfields' lane.
