Geocache Description:

The cache is located near an old wooden railway trestle. The railway line was opened in 1876 and ran for many years under the name Salisbury and Harvey Railway. In 1918 the federal government brought the line and folded it into the new Canadian National Railways. CN abandoned this portion of track in 1955 and tracks were tore up soon after. Parts of this old rail line have already been turned into trails and someday this section probably will be also.

Park at the end of the guardrail on Route 114, N45 48.040 W064 36.846 and follow the "trail' up the western side of Hamilton Creek. Be carefull crossing the old stone culvert.

The cache can be done alone but will be easier if you bring a friend and you must sign the log book to claim it as found. Once you have signed the log you will understand why. The cache will be more difficult in winter. Younger cachers should enjoy this one. Please make sure the cache is reset for the next cacher.

May 16/07. Someone placed a large stick in the cache so that it no longer worked properly. You must perform a simple task to retrieve the container. Everyting needed to perform this task is with the cache. No more sticks gumming up the works please!
