Geocache Description:

The coords get you near the start of this multi-cache that is great for all ages! Give yourselves at least an hour after sunset to complete this multicache!

  • This cache was adapted from Caching the Night Away, near the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
  • This is a multi-stage cache designed to be found AT NIGHT!!! Make sure you bring a GOOD flashlight. A little keychain penlight WON'T cut it! You need a flashlight that can throw a good beam of light, not an LED or smaller light that is good for close up brightness. Then- I suggest you bring extra batteries. Several people have had flashlights die when only half way through this multi!

I hate digging through wet bushes at night looking for caches, so I decided that caching at night should be FUN!! Using reflective trail markers on trees, poles and other objects, I have marked the locations of the clues. A pen and notepad may be handy to jot down your clues. The clues are little metal tags that are hidden simply at first, more difficult as the multi progresses, until you find the cache. The cache is big enough for small items, so bring an item to trade. Overall the terrain is easy during the day, but may prove more a little more challenging at night. Keep in mind that sprinklers may come on, or that you may find yourself walking through soggy spots!

NOTE: Park hours are posted- no parking inside the parking lot after 10PM, and no parking on Manhattan Beach Blvd after 11PM. So- I suggest you park at the end of Cranbrook Ave and walk South across Manhattan Beach Blvd through the Pedestrian crosswalk, or park south of Alondra Park on Redondo Beach Blvd. Please be careful, cars often don't stop for pedestrians. Also- one more word of caution, this park sometimes attracts homeless muggles at the north end, please watch your kids! Back to the cache...

The first metal tag clue is visible from the posted coords with your flashlight. These tags are found near two reflective markers. Each clue will lead you to the next location to look for the markers, then the next... etc. Finally, the cache is a regular size rubbermaid container, good for flat items. Pay close attention to the clues, write down all the info on the tags, bring your strong flashlights, pen, paper and possibly a sweatshirt, and enjoy caching at NIGHT!!! Please re-hide the cache as good as possible!

Congratulations to Puppetman for being FTF and on #200!
