Geocache Description:

Keep an eye out for the novel letterbox!

The railway line that you cross to reach the cache is part of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway that was fully reinstated in 2011. It now runs, with a change of trains at Porthmadog, all the way from Caernarfon to Blaenau Ffestiniog: not the fastest journey certainly, but definitely scenic. There are nearby stations at Plas y Nant and Snowdon Ranger.

Please note that the cache is not on railway property. Also, the metal stiles that originally gave the cache its name have recently been replaced with ordinary wooden ones. (They were actually made from metal rails, not sleepers, but hey, what's in a name?)
