Saw that there was a cabin out here on the trail map and figured
it would be a good spot for a cache. It’s up to you to decide if I
was right.
The cache is not in or very near the cabin itself.
To get to the trailhead, go north off of Hwy. 97 at the light in
Vanderhoof. Go over the bridge over the Nechako River and turn
right. At the junction of Sturgeon Point Rd, there is a sign for
the X-country ski trails. Turn right and keep following those
signs. The trailhead is just past the Valhalla Heights subdivision
on Smedley Road. The cache is only about 500m from here. The roads
are usually always in excellent shape.
I hope some geocachers are able to get out here before the
inevitable happens and the pine gets logged due to the mountain
pine beetle epidemic.
