Geocache Description:

Car parking at N50º 40,626´ W003º 44,449´

The standing stone near the road is marked on maps as “Headless Cross”. Since it has no head this would seem to be a good name: on the other hand it probably never did have one, so is it a cross at all ?
or a prehistoric Menhir. As such it is known as Maximager’s Stone. On a dark night when the wind is just right it is said to cry pitifully. Maximager was a giant, and if you take the track uphill to the southwest you will find the Giant’s Grave. It can be seen how the inmate pushed up the huge cover stone to escape after he was interred.
Near the grave are the scanty remains of another burial cairn, and also a curved line of seven boulders that suggest an outer circle.

No pen/pencil
