Geocache Description:

Nice 2km round hike. Take a drink bottle and follow the path

Nifflers are small creatures which possess the ability to hunt treasure and shiny objects. Their front paws are flat and spade-like, which help them dig. Nifflers are found naturally in mines. Although they are not considered highly dangerous, they are considered impossible to keep in the home, because they will tear a home apart seeking valuables.

When I read this discription of a creature in the Harry Potter series I thought for sure JK Rowling had based this adorable little creature called a Niffler on Geocachers.

So what better place for all us Nifflers to seek valuables than the Para Wirra Gold Fields where there are lots of valuable caches to be found.

This one however rewards you if you are making the hike between Golden Pond and Over and Under. it is located along the track next to a fenced off mine shaft and has a great view of the valley.
You don't need to dig but you do need to move the bark.

And of course this valuable cache contains shinny and glittery items for you to trade.
