Geocache Description:

The Labyrinth is an ancient pattern found in many cultures around the world. These designs were found on pottery, tablets and tiles dated as far back as 4000 years. It is not a maze. There is one way into the centre and it is the same way out.

The United Church Labyrinth was constructed in Nov. of 2004. It is designed like the labyrinth laid in the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France, in 1220.

Walking the Labyrinth is a means of meditation that offers us space to listen to all of creation, to ourselves and to God. It is a spiritual tool for relaxation, prayer, play and personal growth.

If you choose to walk the Labyrinth, open yourself to the journey. As you make the turns, think about what you are turning to and turning from. When you reach the centre, pause, breathe deeply, rest for a moment. Do not hurry, give yourself time to ponder reflectively.

The cache is a clear lock 'n lock hidden on church property with permission. The GPS is a bit iffy for some reason so you'll have to use your geosenses. There aren't that many hiding places. This is a high muggle area so use stealth.

Sept./10 Alas, the labyrinth is no more. The minister responsible for it has moved on.
There is a FTF card.
