From the cache site, you will have a clear view of the Coloma bridge below, with Mt. Murphy beyond. With the recent acquisition of that property by the American River Conservancy, you can now enjoy hiking on the mountain and along Dutch Creek to three waterfalls.
You do not need to bushwhack to find the cache. It is not on the Monroe Ridge trail, but a short hike from the trailhead on a different path, taking you to an enjoyable open spot. The cache container is a cammoed tupperware container.
