Geocache Description:

Cache is a painted waterproof match container.

This cache is placed in the newly established "Bayou Memorial Park" at the western city limits of the city of Ferriday, Louisiana. According to the Ferriday Garden Club, which played a key role in getting the park built, the purpose of the park was to honor all who have served or are serving in the U.S. armed forces. The small park features 55 American flags on separate flagpoles, along with the nine other flags that have flown over Louisiana. Also, 12 trees were planted behind the flag display which, according to park designers, were planted to honor all the agencies which keep us safe and free, including law enforcement and fire departments. The park will be officially dedicated on May 15, 2007. I thought about hiding the cache under a flagpole cover, and leaving the hint that it was "undercover," but decided I'm not that mean (yeah, right). OK, actually they didn't put covers over the flagpole bases.
