CACHE IS NOT AT ABOVE COORDINATES
Dead Reckoning- A method of estimating the position of a ship or aircraft by applying estimates of the distance and direction travelled to a previously known position
This is my first hide and I wanted to make it a challenge for the numerous talented cachers in the Hampton Roads area. Your voyage will be an arduous one. The forecast is calling for 60 foot rolling waves and many muggling pirates! I will provide you with your starting point from there you will be given only course, speed and time making way. You will need to figure distance. I will also provide some aids to navigation to help you along your way.
Your voyage begins at N 36' 49.901 W 076' 07.512 from here we are underway making way at 0900 on a course of 170'Magnetic at a speed through the water of 2.6 knots. Dead ahead you see a massive wave bearing down on you! Hold Fast and Throttle Up! Full Speed Ahead!! As you throttle up the wave you will see a Great Seal off your Starbaord side, leave it to starboard and motor on. As you crest the wave, you spot a Slim Grey Aid to Navigation dead ahead.
At 0903 we change course to port. New course is 130'M and our speed is 2.8kts. Here comes another wave! As you begin to crest you spot a Thick Grey Day Shape dead ahead and a Thick Grey Day Shape 3 points off Port bow as well.
You reach your waypoint and change course hard to Port, the time is 0906. Our new course is 050'M and speed is 2.4kts.You are now motoring down into the trough of a wave. As you head into another wave you spot little muggles surfing a giant wave to your Port beam, at least 10 foot over head! Leave them to Port and motor towards the White Safe Water Mark. Leave this mark to Port and come hard to Starboard.
The time is now 0909, your new course is 180'M and your speed has dropped to 1kt. You are now in a following sea with fair winds, almost there! Dead Ahead you spot a Lonely Brown Marker. Be very weary of pirating muggles as you steam towards your destination.
At 0912 you reach your destination. From here the cache is at 140'M and 12 meters in.
Cache is a micro container with no room for a pen, please be discreet as you search, with all the muggles in the area it could be plundered again.
