On the Lancashire Coastal Way near Cockersand Abbey. An easy coastal walk.
Cockersand Abbey was founded in around 1180AD.
The nearby lighthouse is called Plover Scar and marks the entrance to the River Lune. Up river lie Lancaster and Glasson Dock which were major ports in times gone by. Glasson is still quite a busy port with a fresh water marina for canal boats and sea going yachts.
Car parking can be found in Glasson Village or by Cockerham Caravan Park.
