Geocache Description:

This is at Paul B. Johnson State Park located about 20 miles south of Hattiesburg. Pavilion 27. Call to book your camping spot early, the park is busy this weekend. 601-582-7721 There is a swimming hole, so bring your swimsuits if you are interested! The coordinates given for the event are the coordinates for the gate. Here are the coordinates for the Pavilion that we will be at: N 31 08.305 W 089 14.570

Paul B. Johnson does not have their own website, but you can call the number above to book your camping spot. We will be gathering at Pavilion 27 at 9:00 a.m. We will have a table for your TB's and Geocoins.

We will be serving lunch for $5.00 a plate. There is no need for you to bring any food. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN DRINKS. We will not provide drinks. We are not trying to make money off of this, just to make it easier on everyone. This way you don't have to worry about cooking something and bringing it. We will provide all food, plates and utensils, even dessert. The menu is bar-b-cue chicken, baked beans, potato salad, and Frank(King Kong) will be cooking cobbler in his dutch oven.

Please let us know as soon as you know if you can come. We want to make sure there is enough food for everyone.

We will have 3 games, and lots of prizes. More info on the games will be posted later. We will, of course, have lots of new caches for you to find.

Please see the thread in the MSGA forums titled "June 23 Event" and join in the discussion. Post here as well with any questions, etc.

FAST CACHE GAME: Start picking your teammates now! No more than 5 people per team, but you can have less if you prefer. You will be given a sheet with some caches listed on it that have not been published yet. You will not be told anything about these caches, all you will have is the name of the cache and the coordinates. You will have to find as many as you can in the time limit that will be set and be back to the pavilion. The team with the most finds wins trophies for each team member. There will be codes that you will have to bring back from each cache. Also, all teams are supposed to stay together. No splitting up the team and hunting seperately, and no sharing hints with other teams. There will be a tie breaker if necessary. This is perfect for those of you who frequently make numbers runs!
6/23/07 - Congratulations to our winning team, team 9 (DavidMac, Agent24, prntr1, Leftygator, and CknMiss24)! Three of the 19 teams that participated found 12 of the 14 caches, but team 9 got back first. Each member of the team received a trophy, a Bamboozle caching stick, and a bag of 5 ready-to-go micro caches.

POKER RUN: While you are doing the fast cache game, try to hit the caches that are labeled as poker run caches. You will know which ones these are. There will be 5 caches that have individual envelopes with one card each. Each team member (or whoever wants to play) may take only 1 card from each cache. Each cache contains cards from different decks. You must only take one from each cache container. Once you have your 5 cards, you have a hand and are ready to play. Do not open your cards until we say so. When we are ready to play poker, we will tell you to open your cards. There will be prizes for winners.
6/23/07 - Congratulations to Daniel Majors (now forever to be known as "Lucky"), who won with two queens and two jokers - a four-of-a-kind. Daniel received a trophy and a solid silver Geocache America geocoin donated by Coins and Pins.

SCAVENGER HUNT: While you are out cache hunting for the poker run and fast cache game, and any time you see something on the scavenger hunt list, pick it up! You may want to bring a bag for this game. We will have a list of scavenger hunt items for you to collect at the event. There will be prizes for winners. You may want to split the poker run and the scavenger hunt between your teammates and let the younger ones do the scavenger hunt while the adults do the poker run, as the children may enjoy this one better. Either way, it is open to everyone!
6/23/07 - Congratulations go out to team 10 (Eagle700, JmScout90, JmSoccer90, and Daniel aka "Lucky"). The team won by a wide margin, finding everything on the list except for a cicada shell and a 1970 dollar bill. The four-member team won trophies, five geocoins (one donated coin from each of our company sponsors), and 5 bags with 5 ready-to-go micro caches in each.

6/23/07 - Congratulations to our other winners:
Daniel Majors (Lucky) was also the kids' raffle grand prize winner. He won the Garmin GPSMap 76CS GPS unit donated by ADS1.
Young Jennifer (JmSoccer90) won the grand prize in the combined raffle - a full set of 10 XLE Edition Civil War geocoins donated by Chris (prntr1).
