I found out about this location while thumbing through a History of Washington County book. This is the history I was able to dig up so far from doing a bit of research, if anyone knows more please drop me an e-mail.
Charles Friend (1699-1751) lived in the area that is now Williamsport, Washington Co. He was the son of Andrew and Isabela (Helm) Friend, was born before 1700 and died in Frederick County MD about 1756. He married Carthery (Gertrude) ? --------. Owned a tract of land in MD called "Swede's Delight" and "Hard Bargain." Children of Charles and Carthery Friend. (1). Gabriel (2). Jacob m.Eleanor Prather (3). Charles Jr.
