For all the
times that I noticed the Trout Gulch Trail marked on the
Nisene Marks trails maps, I had never hiked the trail until
today. This is a pleasant trail that takes you up Trout Gulch
to a ridge and then along the ridge towards the boundary of
the park.
From the Aptos Creek Road, the trail ends about 0.6 mile at a
gate that marks the boundary of the park. The cache is about 0.58
mile from the trailhead at Aptos Creek Road.
The cahce is within 10 feet of the trail.
I had a surprisingly good lock on 5 satellites with my Magellan
SporTrak Pro. However, as with all hides in the redwoods, don't
hesitate to use the hint if your GPS struggles.
