I went to find these shipwrecks which I had seen on Google Earth Maps. I planned to hide a cache as near as possible to the wrecks, but then I went exploring and found a spot I liked better. Parking may be the hardest part of getting there. Reeve Park is a Riverhead Town beach and you need a permit to park there, especially during the summer months. You might find parking on the nearby side roads. From the parking lot it is a walk down the beach of a little more than half a mile.
I can find no history of these skeletal remains. They apparently aren't big enough to merit any mention in the websites I checked. But the wrecks themselves and the surrounding woods can make for a nice summer day's exploring!
The container is a small lock and lock clone. If you are under 6 feet tall you may need to find some help from natural resources to get to it. If you think you're at the right spot, you probably are. Keep looking!
