The cache is a small, camo painted lock n lock container with small trinkets and a small log book. It can be found at approximately 4100 ft elevation.
This is another nursing school study break cache--there were a lot of things I could have been working on, but for the sake of my sanity, I chose to take a hike and hide a cache! I have viewed this area from above many times on my way to the summit and had always thought it would be fun to explore this track. As it turns out, this path leads all the way to Crazy Canyon Road eventually, though I didn't have time to travel the entire route when I hid this cache. I saw lots of birds and wildflowers on my adventure.
The initial part of the hike is fairly steep, though how steep depends on which trail you take. The total elevation gain is about 700 ft. I parked at the gas compressor station trail head at N 46*50.061, W 113* 59.325, but there are a number of different trail heads you could use. My trail distance was about 1.5 miles each way. Newer trails have been put in recently that switchback nicely up to the old fire road. Good luck and have fun!
