Geocache Description:

This is a decon container. PLEASE REPLACE AS FOUND!

The morning of October 14, 1066, William and his men meet Harold and his men at the battle of Hastings. Williams’s troops were way better equipped for the battle to come. He had bow men, knights and some foot soldiers. However on the opposing side there was only Harold and his housecarls, men with axes and long shields. There were also a couple poor commoners that came along. The battle lasted for a whole day and at one point some one thought William was dead, this sent his troops into panic. But even though he was sick and in the middle of battle he took off his helmet and rallied his troupes. Toward the evening Harold was shot with an arrow in the eye, he and his two brothers lay dead and his army was scattered.
