Geocache Description:

Located in Searls Park. There are lots of muggles around , especially on race days, so use some stealth while seeking this.

Searls Park, a 150-acre tract of woodland, was a gift from Mrs. Emily Searls in 1944. Mrs. Searls deeded the land in memory of her late husband, John F. Searls, and her husband's uncle, John Searls, who originally homesteaded the land. After a land acquisition by the Rockford Park District, the park's area increased to 211 acres.
A prairie located in Searls Park is a remnant of the great prairies that once covered thousands of acres of the Midwest. The BMX track in Searls Park is considered to be one of the top ten racing track facilities in the United States, and is operated by dedicated community volunteers. Along with the BMX track, this park has baseball and soccer fields, lots of picnic areas and a nice paved bike/hiking trail.

Parking is available at N 42° 18.191 W 089° 07.970 , Not far off the paved trail. Some bushwhacking is required but only a minimal amount. This is our 1st hide, so any and all feed back will be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy.
