Geocache Description:

This nano can be found in the car park at Warnham Nature Reserve, North West of Horsham on the B2237 (just off the A24). A public footpath passes through the car park. There is no writing implement in the cache.

The Reserve is open all year, seven days a week, 10am to 6pm (or dusk). You do not need to go into the actual Reserve to find the cache but allowing time for a visit is heartily recommended. There is a small entrance fee (50p in May 2007) and a cafe is open at weekends and throughout the summer. Dogs are not allowed in the Reserve.

The 92 acre site was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 1988. It includes a 17 acre (6.9 ha) millpond, marshes, grassland, reedbeds, hedges and woodlands. The site provides a haven for a variety of wildlife, being known to having recorded over 200 species of wild plants, from Common Birdsfoot Trefoil to Orchids and ancient Oaks, and over 150 species of bird, including a thriving Heronry, wildfowl, woodpeckers and the rare Cetti's Warbler. The beautiful Kingfisher makes the most of the waters and are regularly seen from the birdhides. The Reserve is also rich in dragonfly - over 21 species have been recorded - which take advantage of the different wetland habitats.
