This one is located near the East Baldy Trailhead at the Gabalon campground.
GeoQuest & jestedong placed this cache during a 3 day camping trip in the area. On day 2, we made it almost to the top of the peak, within a 1/2 mile. Unfortunately, heavy snow cover prevented us from making it to the top.
Be warned, if you are attempting the peak. From this trailhead, the trail is not maintained. It's a great walk for the first 2 miles or so; however, at the river crossing it turns pretty steep with a lot of fallen trees. The trail also turns much more primative in many spots. We spent much of our 12 hour, 14 mile, trek trying to find our way back to the trail.
Follow the trail about 1 1/2 miles for a pleasant hike to the Baldy Monument cache.
