Geocache Description:

A Hawthorn with a history of well over 1000 years.

Originally marking the boundary between the cultivated fields of the combe and the common land beyond, there has been a Hawthorn tree planted at this very fork in the road at Salcombe Regis since Saxon times - although the current tree isn't that old. Each time a tree has died another one has been planted in its place. Local legend has it that the well-being of the village depends on the health of the tree.

There is enough room to pull up right next to the cache. Please be aware of any traffic although it is a fairly quiet lane
