Geocache Description:

Located high above the Cwm Prysor valley near the old track bed of the Bala to Blaenau Ffestiniog railway.
No bikes allowed. Not buggy or wheelchair friendly due to 2 stiles and some rough ground. Dogs are allowed on a lead but not during lambing time.
For a lot of the walk you are on a ledge that is about 12 - 15 feet wide with a very steep slope on one side. Please be very careful if going with young children.

This is a traditional size cache. The first that we have placed.

The first part of the walk is very often quite muddy with alot of puddles. In spring time, these often have tadpoles, frogs and newts in them. If you want to avoid the puddles, as soon as the bank on your left starts to rise up, get onto it and walk on top of the embankment close to the fence. after a while this will lead you back to the base level but you will have missed most of the muddy bits and the puddles (but also the frogs and tadpoles)

The cache is located 1.76 miles from the car park point and reached by following the old dismantled railway that used to run from Bala to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
The railway was perched high up the valley wall, in some places, 300ft above the valley floor.

While walking to this cache, you will go over a very picturesque viaduct and enjoy excellent views of the valley from a vantage point

You will reach a point where on your left, is a rocky bowl shape just off of the track, it is safe to explore this area and marvel at the wonderful views both ways up and down the valley. The cache is very close.

Original contents include a selection of items including the Compass Rose Geocoin.
Please sign the book and enjoy the view.
