Den här cachen tar dig på en timmes promenad i Linnés fotspår. Cachen är en plastlåda: 18 x 11 x 8 cm

Linnéträdgården

Linnéträdgården grundlades 1655 av Olof Rudbeck d.ä. som sveriges första botaniska trädgård. Den har idag ett utseende som liknar 1700-talets. Linné tog över arbetet 1741 och gjorde om den efter eget huvud, allt dokumenterat i Hortus Upsaliensis (1748). Idag växer ca 1300 arter här; alla kända från Linnés tid och ordnade efter hans system.

Linnémuseet

Huset i hörnet av trädgården är numera ett museum. Olof Rudbeck d.ä. uppförde det som prefektbostad för akademiträdgården. 1741 rustades det till Linné och hans familj efter att dessförinnan ha ansetts vara "mera likt en rövarkula och ett ugglenäste". Här bodde familjen ett antal år, Linné med fru och barn.

This cache will take you for a one-hour stroll through parts of Uppsala related to Carl Linnaeus. The cache is a plastic container: 18 x 11 x 8 cm

The Linnaeus Garden

The Linnaeus Garden - founded in 1655 by Olof Rudbeck the Elder - was the first botanical garden in Sweden. Linnaeus became responsible for the garden in 1741 and had it rearranged according to his own ideas, documented in his work Hortus Upsaliensis (1748). Today approximately 1300 species are grown here. All known to have been cultivated by Linnaeus and arranged according to his own system.

The Linnaeus Museum

Situated within the garden is the Linnaeus Museum. Olof Rudbeck the Elder, built the house in the late 17th century. It was then refurbished in 1741 especially for Linnaeus and his family as it had come to be more like "a robber's lair or an owl's nest" than a home. The Linnaeus family lived a number of years in this house, Carl with wife and children.
