DEUTSCH:
Der Cache M4915 führt dich zu Österreichs nördlichstem
Konfluenzpunkt. "Konfluenzpunkte" nennt man Schnittpunkte von
Meridianen und Breitenkreisen mit ganzzahligen Gradwerten. Du
kannst bis rd. 1.5 km an den Punkt mit dem PKW heranfahren, musst
aber den Rest auf Forststraße bzw. Wanderweg zurücklegen.
Das BEV (Bundesamt für Eich und Vermessungswesen) hat dort auch
einen Stein errichtet, schnell wirst du aber feststellen, dass die
Koordinaten des Stein von denen deines GPS-Gerätes um gut 100 m
abweichen. Wie kommt es zu dieser Differenz? Ganz einfach - das BEV
hat der Vermessung das Datum Austria ("MGI") zu Grunde gelegt, im
internationalen Gebrauch und beim Geocaching aber wird - wie wir
wissen - das Datum WGS84 verwendet. Die Differenzen, die sich durch
den Gebrauch von unterschiedlichen Datum-Definitionen ergeben,
können sehr große Ausmaße annehmen, in unserem Fall eben immerhin
rd. 100m!
Wenn du also schon dort bist, wirst du nicht nur den Cache
suchen, sondern auch den vom BEV abgestecken Stein besuchen, die
Wegweiser dorthin verfolgen dich ohnehin schon den ganzen Weg
entlang.
Parkplatzkoordinaten brauchen wir aufgrund der vielen
Möglichkeiten keine angeben - mit Hilfe einer Karte wirst du aber
sicher schnell was finden und dann suche ...

ENGLISH:
The cache M4915 leads you to the most northern confluence point
of Austria. Confluence points are intersectin points of circles of
latitude and longitude with integer degree-values. It´s possible to
park your car about 1.5 km near the cache, the rest you have to
walk on gravel or hiking trails.
This point was also marked with a stone by the BEV (Austra´s
public survaying office). Quickly you will recognize that there is
a difference of about 100m between the coordinates of the stone and
your GPS coordiantes. What´s the reason for this quite large
difference? Easy to describe: The base of the BEV´s survaying was
the Austrian geodatic date (called MGI), international valid and
used for Geocaching is the geodatic date WGS84. The differences
that result on the use of various geodatic dates can reach
considerable values - in this case about 100 meters.
So if you already are at that point you will not only searc for
the cache but also have a look to the Stone marked by the BEV.
Anyway - a lot of destination panels will have led you the way
during the last minutes.
Parking coordinates are not necessary - there are many pretty
fine possibilities to start your walk. Eventually have a look at
your map.
