Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches set along public byways or greenlanes.

The views of Vindolanda from here are very impressive and there is plenty of parking available in their car park.

The fingerpost at the north end of the track says ‘path’, it’s not, it’s actually a byway. From the southern end it states ‘unsuitable for motors’ – it’s not, 4X4s will have no problem. The ‘path’ interpretation is interesting and misleading as it’s suitably vague – we’ve never seen that before.
