Start at Russ Gates and follow the old tracks. Access may be closer from the highway, but parking is hazardous.
The Big Blackfoot Railroad once ran from Bonner to Woodworth. This is the site of the Bear Creek Bridge to access logging areas on the other side. The Wye track was used to turn the locomotive around for the return trip. You needn't stop your trip here. Its public land farther east to the fence. Those engineers had the most scenic duty.
