Geocache Description:

NOTE: THIS CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES

Captain Jack Sparrow, the assumed son of an East India Trading Company seaman Captain Teague Sparrow and an Indian maiden, was born in British Colonial India on a pirate ship during a typhoon and was once employed as an agent by the East India Trading Company. Sparrow helmed the Wicked Wench, an EITC merchant vessel, performing odd jobs for Cutler Beckett. When he refused to transport slaves and instead freed them in Africa, Beckett sanctioned the torching (and sinking) of the Wicked Wench, and literally branded Jack Sparrow a pirate. Sparrow came to embrace his outlaw status, becoming a successful pirate with no desire to return to life under the command of others. He soon became one of the Nine Pirate Lords, with his territory being the Caribbean Sea. Later, he petitioned Davy Jones to raise his ship from the ocean floor, and rechristened her the Black Pearl. Jones granted Sparrow captaincy of the ship for thirteen years, after which Jones would own Sparrow's soul for one hundred years.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, (2007) is an adventure film, the third in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, following The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) and Dead Man's Chest (2006).

This cache is located in the scenic Loantaka Brook Reservation. This Morris County Park got its name from the Native American Lenni-Lenape Tribe. Loantaka means "the place of the cold winter" which refers to the Great Swamp and surrounding area.

The park offers 5 miles of multi-use paved trails stretching through the Townships of Morris, Harding, and Chatham. Parking is available on Loantaka Way.

This cache is located on the opposite side of the park from the Loantake Way parking area. You can walk (.25) along Loantake Way pass the old Gibbons horse Farm to access the paved trail. Otherwise, follow the blue trail from the parking area, this will intersect with the red trail, and cross Loantake way further down from the parking area. This is a slightly longer 10-15 minutes)

Please do not park at the Green Village Post office during business hours, located on Green Village road. This is a very small lot with signs posted, you will be ticketed.
