Approximately 20 - 25 minutes walk for the average family group along a contoured well developed track through ancient stands of New Zealand native trees especially many fine specimens of Rimu. The walk can be part of a one hour loop to avoid returning the same way.
Suggested parking is at a nice picnic area at S 38 33.985 E 175 43.087. Take a trees and ferns identification book with you if you have one to add to the interest on the day. Our friend Chris the Tree Hugger helped in the set up of this cache. The cache is a camo painted ammunition box initially holding a variety of goodies together with logbook and pencil.
