Warning! Please do not leave travelbug & coins in the cache! Don't safe, sorry! Kérlek ne hagyj utazót a dobozban, mert másik játéktéren is regisztrálva van a doboz – így az utazó avatatlan kezekbe kerülhet!

The Rustok-mountain is an especially beautiful place at the west side of Börzsöny Mountains, and east from Nagybörzsöny. The simplest way can be following the blue-red sign in Nagybörzsöny, then out of the village following the blue square sign. It’s quite difficult and steep to reach the top (as usual at the fortresses), but the view compensates for everything. Please do not upload there photos about the cache, I’d like it to be surprise for everybody. Thanks. (The size is 20x40x5cm )

Information about the fortress
The Rustok-mountain is located east from Nagybörzsöny village. From the south/southeast the Long-valley and the Cross-valley, from north/northeast the Börzsöny water-course are bordering. The east part ends a bit lower, at the Rustok-saddle, from where a long wavering apex goes in the direction of Nagy-Hideg-mountain (Great-Cold Mountain). The hillside of the Rustok-mountain is quite steep, and somewhere rocky, but the west side, in the direction of the village is a bit easier.

The mountain’s northeast end is the higher area. The fortress ruins originated from the Iron Age are located there. The altitude is 484 m, the relative altitude is approximately 150m.

The fortress’s southeast border is the Cross-valley hillside, it’s very steep and almost unviable. Except this border, the fortress has fortification around. The west side is mostly in gross, the fortification’s highness nearly 1.5 meter. The northwest side it ends, and continues as a bench. The northeast side is steep too, the fortification can be seen as an obliterated bench, but it’s hard to sense. The east end is more narrow, and the fortification can be seen there too. The diameters of the fortress are 504 m and 230 m.

In 1973, Gyula Novaki did a testing excavation there, he cut across 2 times the wall. As a result, we know that the fortification made from lumber and dirt, and the structure was made of boxes, filled with dirt. Great number of crock pieces was found there, they’re originated from the Bronze Age.

The destruction hang together with a fire, the lumber got fire, the dirt burned to be red, and finally it toppled down to the outside.

In the fortress, and west from there, benches and rock-queues are located on the hillside. These are remains of plough land. Gyula Novak thinks, that these plough lands were used between the late middle age, and the XIX. century.

The hiding was a part of a great 2-day trip, they helped me: Döbrögi, VakucApuc, Kriszti, Béla, and the friends from the HECT: Levin, Kovi, Mudman&Dóri, vVera, vBalázs, vTamás, Piret, Kulisz, Flektogon, doGmAI
