Geocache Description:

Look close you can see stones dating back as far as 1645

This is the site of the first Brethren Church of Niagara.
The homestead of one the the church founders (The wing family) can be found west of this location, off Effingham road on the intersection of Moore and Tice road. It is private property but the owner does not mind you exploring but she takes no liability if you get hurt while on her property. This home was built in 1625 by a jesuit priest and was taken over shortly after by the Wing family until the war of 1812 when they moved out and into the church for their safety. The house was then used as a supply post. An addition was built next to the house to hold ammunitions. If you visit this old house please respect the neighbours and do it during the day time hrs. Also please only park at the intersection and walk along Moore to this location.
