The Cunningly Named Harris Event Cache Event Cache

Simply Paul: Time to close this event listing down. Thanks so much to everyone who came along - shame no locals made it, but we had fun looking at photos of the day anyway. I hope to hold another event in Scotland in 2009, so stay tuned!

Geocache Description:

Harris and Lewis is/are the biggest island/s of the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles and are home to 20,000+ people - yet they've never had a geocaching event!

Friday June 22nd 2007, from 8.30pm 'til late.

With so many caching visitors on the island I thought it'd be good to hold an event more accessible to local cachers (there must be some!) and visitors alike than the St Kilda one being held more than 65 miles away.

The above co-ords should deliver you to the Harris Hotel in Tarbert, overlooking the restless North Atlantic and Minch and, if I'm frank, probably to overlook some whiskey (galore?). The bar is open to non-residents and food is served from 7pm til 9pm in the dinning room. You're advised to book ahead (number below) if you'd like to eat though. If you're attending after the St Kilda trip, that's expected back to Leverburgh at 7.30pm, so you'll need to rush the 20 miles to Tarbert if you want food; they don't serve bar meals.
