UPDATE: Sadly, Riverfest has officially come to an end. It was such an awesome festival for 40 years and one that will provide so many memories for so many people. I will continue to keep this cache active, though.

This cache is placed to honor “Mr. Riverfest” and to celebrate his 30 years of service to the state’s premier annual festival. Although many of you may know him as Sayitagain, or Jim, the title of “Mr. Riverfest” is one that was given to him by others for his deep compassion towards making the spirit of Riverfest the greatest that it could possibly be.
From ensuring that all of the vendors had the necessary water and power to run their stands to making sure that the kids’ area was in the safest location in the park, he has done it all, year in and year out.
Little did he know in 1978 when the festival was known as the Summer Arts Festival and held at Murray Park in August, that it one day would be held Memorial Day Weekend on both sides of the river and that admission would grow from 2,000 people to clearly over 245,000 people.
All one needs to do to realize the impact that he’s had on the festival over the past 30 years is to ask those whom he’s worked beside to describe him; just a couple of the quotes being “He just embodies the spirit of the festival” and “He’s really one of the great unsung heroes.”
After this year’s festival, he will be retiring from the Committee and Board. His love and leadership are irreplaceable and he will truly be missed!
The container that you are looking for is hidden inside the park and is similar in size to that of 35-mm film container and holds only the log. Please bring something to sign it with and make sure that you place it back just as you found it so that others may enjoy the same experience that you did.
The satellite reception on the gps was very spotty when hiding the cache and showed anywhere from 25 to 50 feet of accuracy. If you find better cords, please let us know.
