This is another in our song title series. If you don't know the song, we've included some history for you. Enjoy and have fun…
The Chantays were a surf/rock band from the early 1960's. Best known for only one hit, an instrumental, "Pipeline" hit the charts in 1963.
"Pipeline" has become a standard surf rock hit. Written by Brian Carman and Bob Spickard, it has since been rerecorded by The Ventures, Agent Orange, Hank Marvin, Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as the thrash metal band, Anthrax.
The Chantays and "Pipeline" are also included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1996, The Chantays were inducted into the Hollywood Rock Walk.
They were keen on instrumentals, but a good number of their songs had lyrics. With the possible exception of the track "Pipeline", their music is hard to find.
The cache might be just as hard to locate, especially for the height-impaired.
Bring your own pen/pencil.
Please make sure the lid is snapped securely before replacing.
Congratulations to bvrballs for FTF!!! We're impressed!
