Geocache Description:

This cache is in a green belt where Thornton Creek is daylighted.

This cache was put out by our Camp Fire USA group. We are working on geocaching as a group project; learning about latitude and longitude, reading GPSr's, finding caches and benchmarks and tracking travel bugs. The original contents include 8 travel bugs. We would like to see how far and wide each can travel in different directions.

The cache is located near a daylighted section of Thornton Creek. We love this spot on hot summer days as it is always about 10 degrees cooler here than the rest of the city and you can drop your feet in the creek for a cool down. Park on the south side for easy access. The trail is easy to find if you notice that only one section of the southern side of this 'park' is actually next to a street. All other entry points would lead you through someone's yard and there is no need for this.

No need to head all the way down the trail, but of course you are welcome to do so if you like. There are nearly always muddy conditions on the trail in the winter.
