The cache is located only a few steps off the Arabia Mountain Bike Trail.

The bridge is located over Stephenson creek, a major stream within the Nature Preserve.

The PATH Foundation built the bridge in 2004 using a lattice truss design developed by Horace King, who was born into slavery before the Civil war. King bought his freedom in 1846 and became a prolific bridge builder. He built bridges in west Georgia, Alabama and eastern Mississippi until the 1880's. At one time, he was responsible for building the major bridges crossing the Chattahoochee River. King had four sons that he trained to build covered bridges and they formed a bridge building company. After the Civil War, King continued his work as an engineer and architect, while serving two terms in the Alabama House of Representatives. He later moved to LaGrange, where he lived with his family until his death in 1885.
