God's Country 24 - Peno Traditional Cache

Located at the junction of Hwy 45 & Rge Rd 190. Makes a nice drive-by if you're travelling on Hwy 45.
This is St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church - Peno. This church originally sat on the site of God's Country - Uwin, but was sold to Peno parishioners for $350 in 1950 and moved to it's present site. As stated on the Lamont County Church Tour website, 'An Orthodox cross was added to the steeple, but otherwise the exterior has retained its Protestant appearance.'
If you travel approximately 1/2 mile North across the highway from this church, you will see a beautiful stone barn on the west side of the road. Another 1/2 mile further North is another church. However, due to the close proximity of the neighbors (and their dogs), I decided not to place a cache at this site. It is, however, worth the drive.
This is a micro in a spruce tree, complete with pencil & sharpener.
