This is BB's 59th cache hide.
The Cannawigra Shearing Shed was built in 1859. It once stood on the opposide of the road from the Shearing Tree. A few scattered stones are all that remain of the shed. Sheep yards stood where the road now passes though.
The very large gum tree which once cast its shade over the Cannawigra Shed became known as the Shearing Tree.
The Shearers, in their spare time once played a kind of darts with the old broken blades at a certain spot in the tree. On one occasion, a blade pierced the trunk too deeply and could not be removed. It remains there today, with the handle and curved end protruding some 5 metres above the ground.
The cache is a small Sistema container hidden near the tree. BYO writing instrument to fill in the logbook and replace the cache carefully once you've finished.
