Start at N47° 08.705 W121° 56.030 on the Rim Trail. Follow the trail(1 ¼)miles to a series of small viewpoints. You should get some satellites at this point.
The Mud Mountain Dam is an earthen dam that is used for flood control only. There is a picnic and play area, and an overlook where you can easily view the dam. The Rim trail is used for hiking and mountain biking, and passes through a dense forest. On this trail is a grove of the largest Devil’s Clubs I have ever seen. Mid summer the trail viewpoints can be somewhat overgrown but you should get a signal here. Then start looking. The cache is a bucket with a game CD, a Sleepless in Seattle tape, an antique door-knocker, and misc. other items. Look at the hint only if you are really stuck with no signal.
