For Whom the Bell Tolls Traditional Geocache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

AZRedrock: I've noticed that this cache has multiple issues which really do need to be addressed by the cache owner. Based on the very recent Reviewer Attention Requested log, I'm disabling this cache at this time.

The guidelines state that periodic visits to check on a cache, as well as prompt attention to any logs that indicate there is a problem, are part of the cache owners responsibilities. Only an OWNER MAINTENANCE log will clear the OWNER ATTENTION REQUESTED attribute. Not only has this cache had a long history of dependency on community maintenance, it is located within Munds Mountain Wilderness where caches are normally not allowed.

Please respond to this situation (or indicate your intention) within 30 days**, so others know exactly what is happening with this cache.

You have lots of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:

  • Check on the cache, repair and/or replace the cache or do whatever else is needed, post an Owner Maintenance log indicating the cache has been checked and ENABLE your cache. Then sit back and wait for the praises.
  • If you really hope to get it fixed but there is some unusual reason why you can't do it soon, then at least post a Write Note log (within 15 days). Be sure to indicate when you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. For ongoing issues, please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 28 days so as to keep everyone up to speed.
  • If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to Adopt it or alternatively, you need to Archive it, so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when I next look at the cache page, it is likely that I will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) it on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email unless you feel you must, but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on the trail up Bell Rock.
It is being looked after by AdventureMike - Thanks!

I was in my old stomping ground of Sedona, AZ... visiting my grandparents and I was a little disappointed seeing disabled caches for Bell Rock and a couple other caches that looked really neat. So I decided to place one...

This cache is easy enough to get to if you stay on the trail... if you find yourself headed somewhere that looks really dangerous you're probably in the wrong place. Just stay on the trail until you get close to where the GPS coordinates lead you.

ELEVATION of CACHE - 4660 feet!

Be sure to bring some good shoes, plenty of water, and a camera :) Post pictures please!
