Geocache Description:


This cache is placed off the Original Cariboo Wagon Trail.
Take Highway 97 south from town.After crossing the CN Railway overpass turn right onto the 99 Mile Ski Trails road. Park at the Village Demonstration Forest sign @
N51 37.225 W121 18 036. Follow the Old Cariboo Wagon Road a short distance to the information sign. Follow the path to the Original Cariboo Wagon Trail and then go with your GPS.

From 1861-1863 the Royal Engineers from England supervised construction on this 400 mile road. The fur trading companies opened up the interior of the province but the Cariboo Gold Rush was the impetus for the establishment of communities such as 100 Mile House.

The amazing thing is that over 100 years later it still looks like you could drive a team and wagon over this trail.

The cache is a camo'd lock 'n lock in a zip lock bag.
